4th of July cake

I almost forgot about this one! It has been awhile since I did a cake for anyone so I decided I had to do something fun for the 4th, especially since it pretty much ends up being Nephi's cake too! It looks a little lopsided in the pic, but I have no idea why, I think it is just the angle because it really did turn out well! PS. Thanks to kelly for giving me the good idea for the stripes going one way! My cake almost turned out looking a little british :)

Grandpa's Birthday cake

Nephi did it again! He did such an awesome job on this cake, I think he was even impressed with himself! Notice the bent nails? and real looking varnished wood? We kinda did this last minute too, so even extremely more awesome for completing it in one day!

Another Shower cake

I am slowing down on cakes a lot. So this last one was for a really good friend of mine. Similar to the other shower cake, different colors, and I tried to do a little twist on just the polka dots. Also, Nephi's bow on the last cake turned out a lot better, so if anyone were to ask me to do this one again, it will definitely with a lot more of the hubby's help.

My first wedding and graduation cake

Alright, here is my first attempt at a wedding cake. I did it for a good friend of my sisters. We ran into a couple of problems, but for my very first wedding cake, it really wasnt that bad! I will continue to work on it though, so everyone wish me luck for future cakes!

Thankfully, after the wedding cake I did this graduation cake for one of my moms friends, this one turned out awesome. It was a graduation cake, but the graduate loved Beauty and the Beast, so we tried to add a little of that theme in the cake. This was my very first fondant rose, so that is why I put the other pic of it to show you how well the inside of the rose turned out as well! By the way, she graduated from Fullerton, and that is why the colors are blue and orange! I did not choose them just for the heck of it!

A shower cake

This one turned out pretty good. It was for a baby shower, and I matched the card I got for the idea. The colors turned out pretty darn close, and the theme, I think was right on! Sorry its not a very good pic, I dont know what was up with the lighting, but the foil on the cake board is supposed to be silver! ps. Nephi actually did the bow on the very top of the small cake, pretty good, huh? We are a good team!

This is Autumns birthday cake, I think this is my favorite. I got the idea off of another cake blogger, but added a few different details.

Minnie Mouse and baby shower too!

Yeah me! I have turned out some awesome cakes! This minnie cake, was the funnest, and best cake I have done yet. I say best because I really put some hard work into it, and it was a completely original idea, that I came up with, with NO HELP from NEPHI! Yeah me! Dont you like the skirt though? I loved this, seriously! By far my favorite detail, and the customer LOVED IT!

This was a recent baby shower cake, it was fun, the bear didnt turn out quite right, but it was a practice donation! I used flower and dots for the polka dots. It was fun!

Recent cakes

These are my more recent cakes:
this first one was for my cousin Matt who is into football, so we thought it would be fun, to make it a collage of footballs... or at least of the skins.. it was interesting, and fun to do. It was made with buttercream frosting.

This cakes was buttercream, with royal icing flowers. Royal icing was pretty darn hard, but pretty.

This cake was for another family party, and an experiment that turned out pretty well. Its all covered in fondant except the dots which were buttercream.

This was Lilys birthday cake, actually not made by me, but my sweet hubbie. He wanted to show what he could do, so I let him, and I am putting it in the blog, because he is really the source behind all of my creations, so here is one of his.

This is my first try at the topsy turvy cake, it really was the most fun cake to do. I just played with the decorating, but it turned out pretty good for a first try. Hopefully, you can see the unevenness of it, but see it as on purpose becauseMy Dad asked me if I knew my cake was falling over!
